Mecca Bingo are one of the most respected land based and online bingo brands. With hundreds of halls around the country. In recent times the brand have taken part in several charity events including a staff sky dive to raise money for the charity whizz kids. The next venture for Mecca bingo is a partnership with Southern Electric to try and promote energy saving.

Mecca Bingo players who visit the hall in York will receive two energy saving light bulbs to use at home. The bulbs will reduce the energy being used and are seen as a great way of cutting the cost of bills.

“At a time when a lot of people are concerned about the rising costs of heating and lighting their homes, changing to energy-saving bulbs is a great way of saving money,” said Hugh Bayley, York MP.

“The environment is a big concern for everyone, so by doing this give-away, we are helping our members take a positive step to reduce their energy consumption without hitting their pocket,” said Tim Stobart, manager of the Mecca club in York.

Some members were also offered free home insulation to further reduce energy costs. Currently concerns for energy costs are high as the economic recession has hit homeowners hard. This new incentive by Mecca Bingo will hopefully lessen those worries.
