Online Bingo set for huge Growth

Posted under Bingo News by Admin on Monday 28 July 2008 at 11:40 am

Many in the online gaming industry have predicted the online bingo industry to continue its impressive growth. Online poker experienced a similar growth a few years ago and now Bingo is the new game everyone is playing! The rising fuel prices and smoking bans in public places has moved the industry online with more players than ever joining sites and taking part in Bingo games.

Several traditional bookies have now site up bingo software on their sites, realizing the demand for online bingo is growing. Bookies now offering bingo games include:

William Hill

Ladbrokes M

Coral (Gala Bingo)

Paddy Power

These sites now offer excellent bingo games and promotions for users to take advantage of. The ability to play online has stopped people spending money on fuel to travel to Bingo halls and smoking bans have forced many regualr players to abandon visiting bingo halls. Poker has experienced a similar growth, with hundreds of sites now offering online poker games. Even large casinos in Las Vegas are feeling the effects of the online gaming industry as gamers visit online casino instead of their own due to the cost of travelling.

Bingo is a simple game, for those who want to try and win money in a relaxing, fun environment. Poker, on the other hand, is a game which involves patience, nerve and skill and can often create a tense and uneasy atmosphere for players. So if you want to relax whilst trying to win money Bingo is the game for you!

Celebrity Bingo Players?

Posted under Bingo News by Admin on Tuesday 22 July 2008 at 4:36 pm

Bingo may not seem the most glamorous game online but plenty of big name celebrities love a game of bingo. Some of Hollywood’s biggest names, such as Russel Crowe Catherine Zeta Jones and Robbie Williams are all known for enjoying a game of Bingo! Some have even taken part in Bingo calling in the past. Simon from pop boy band apparently used to call the numbers as well! So bingo can lead to a life of fame and fortune! Sharon Osbourne has also showed her passion for enjoying Bingo by signing a advertising deal with Gala Bingo.

Just under 10% of the UK play Bingo with the majority of players being women. However men are now also taking part in Bingo game. Poker and casino games are still more popular with males but recent studies have found more males taking to the great game of Bingo. The attraction of online Bingo can be found in the community surrounding the game. Poker is an intense game which requires concentration, nerve and patience. Bingo is far more relaxed, less serious and is solely based on luck.

In Bingo a small stake can win you loads of cash, but in poker you have to spend a lot to win a lot. Online sites are now also providing community features such as Castle Bingo’s chat rooms and profile areas. Users can meet and chat to others in a friendly and relaxed environment. I think this may be part of the reasons more men are signing up!

Bingo.com joins Ethoca

Posted under Bingo News by Admin on Tuesday 15 July 2008 at 4:36 pm

The popular online-bingo operator joined the community of companies under the infrastructure put in place by Ethoca, which have come together in the common interest of combating fraud in online gaming.

More and more people are turning to online games for their entertainment, and as traffic increases so does the opportunity and risk of fraud being committed.

“We consider it critical to share information to progress,” said Henry Bromley, CFO of Bingo.com.  “Joining Ethoca’s collaborative fraud management community is a logical step for our business to fight fraud and enhance profitability.”

Bingo.com is one of the leaders in online bingo, with over 1.8 million people registered from all parts of the world, which is why their addition to the anti-fraud community is a really good sign for the industry as a whole.

“We are excited to have Bingo.com join as a member of the anti-fraud community,” said Andre Edelbrock, CEO of Ethoca.  “With the growth in the online gaming community and increased customer-not-present transactions, Ethoca will help Bingo.com reduce the cost of fraud by leveraging the shared experiences of the community.  Ethoca’s collaborative fraud management enables Bingo.com to tackle the on-going problem of online fraud and drive company profits forward.”

Bingos apply for Gaming Centres

Posted under Bingo News by Admin on Wednesday 9 July 2008 at 9:12 am

Since the smoking ban was introduced to all public places last year in the UK, bingo halls have attempted to boost profits by using other marketing strategies. Some bingo companies such as ‘Mecca’ have began applying for licenses to create a separate areas, in their hall, to host high-value slot machines. These areas are known as Adult Gaming Centre’s.

Operations manger of Mecca Bingo’s, Jez Marron, said, “We have capacity for 1,300 in the bingo area but we now get only about 550 players,” “Figures are down on last year and a lot of it is down to the smoking ban.”

The new machines hope to attract more players and boost business revenue, by providing pay outs as much as £500 and a wide range of themed games for players to enjoy. With the growth of online casino and bingo sites many players have stopped attending bingo halls altogether, as they are now able to play in the comfort of their own home.

Players used to visit a Bingo hall to just play bingo, yet the new gaming areas will add another dimension to bingo businesses. This move aims to draw people back to the classic casino and bingo hall atmosphere by introducing more gaming options for players and improving the all round experience for visitors.

What are your thoughts on these gaming centers? As a online casino player I would welcome the introduction of these new machines as I would love to play bingo and slots in a real bingo hall! Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below and make sure you visit us again soon!
